Ἔχιν γεωργὸς ἐκπνέοντ' ὑπὸ ψύχους
λαβὼν ἔθαλπεν· ἀλλ' ἐκεῖνος ἡπλώθη
τῇ χειρὶ προχφύς, καὶ δακὼν ἀνιήτως
ἔκτεινεν [αὐτὸν τὸν θέλοντ' ἀναστῆσαι.]
θνῄσκων δὲ μῦθον εἶπεν ἄξιον μνήμης·
"δίκαια πάσχω τὸν πονηρὸν οἰκτείρας."
