λέοντι προσπτὰς αἰετῶν τις ἐζήτει
κοινωνὸς εἶναι. χὠ λέων "τί κωλύει;"
πρὸς αὐτὸν εἶπεν, "ἀλλ' ἐπ' ἐνεχύρῳ δώσεις
τὠκυπτέρω σου μὴ μεθιέναι πίστιν·
πῶς γὰρ φίλῳ σοι μὴ μένοντι πιστεύσω;"
