Fama, nec huic [(printer); sic: huic] longe mortis abesse diem.
Hunc voluere Canes, et visere turba Luporum,
Eius amore geri res simulata fuit.
Sic decumbit ubi, veniunt ad tecta, iubentque
Pulsando clausas hîc [Reg: hic] aperire fores.
Velle laborantem morbis invisere fingunt,
Officii causa cuius adesse iuvet.
Sed quos per rimam cernens, quam ianua praebet,
Nil opus hoc studio, parvus Asellus ait.
Et meliore refert nunc esse salute parentem,
Hi quam praetextu dissimulante velint.
Officio qui se fallaci fingit amicum,
Ille tibi cauta mente cavendus erit.
