Make sure you read Croy section 151 and pay attention to all the examples. In many ways, the different usages of πᾶς are like the uses of αυτός. For both of these words, you need to pay special attention to the construction of the noun phrase in order to understand the meaning:
outside the noun phrase | πάντα τὰ πλοῖα | all the boats |
τοὺς μαθητὰς πάντας | all the disciples
inside the noun phrase | ὁ πᾶς νόμος | the whole law |
indefinite phrase: singular | πᾶς λόγος |
each word (every word) |
indefinite phrase: plural | πάντας ἀνθρώπους | all people (every person) |
with pronouns | πάντες ὑμεῖς | you all |
πάντα ταῦτα | all these things
substantive | τὰ πάντα |
all things |
πάντες | everybody |
