Make sure you read Croy section 218. Croy introduces you to the verb φημί which is a "defective" verb, meaning that only a few of its forms are ever found. As Croy notes in this section, the most commonly found forms of this verb are the 3rd person singular present, φησίν, and the 3rd person plural present, φασίν, along with the 3rd person singular imperfect, ἔφη.
