Composition

The following is the story of the prodigal son from Luke 15, slightly edited to stick as much as possible to vocabulary that you know. You will read the second part of the story for the Composition exercise in Week 15. You will be surprised at how many of the words you know! Read through the passage, and then answer the questions below. If you are unsure about something, ask for help at the Discussion Board. (The Week 15 assignment is already available, so you can do both at once if you want to finish the whole story now.)

You might also find it helpful to read this passage at the GreekBible.com website, where you can click on each word and see its dictionary definition with grammatical information. (Just search for "Luke 15" and make sure you set the display to "Palatino Linotype").

Note: Remember that the question word τι can mean "what?" and can also mean "why?"

Accents: The reading has been provided with breathing marks and accent marks, but the questions and answers should be done without breathing marks and accent marks - although you should include the iota subscript when necessary.

When the assignment has been completed, a Composition Key will be made available.
