PIsciculum perhibent parvo quem corpore Smarim,
Hunc esu gratum teste sapore ferunt.
Ex genere hos quaedam cum capta pusilla fuisset,
Hunc veniam, qui se ceperat ille, rogat.
Orat ut e reti se sponte remittat in undas,
Et sua grandescant membra pusilla sinat.
Se quia posse capi facili ratione vicissim,
Sic, ait, utilitas hinc tibi maior erit.
At Piscator inops possim tunc mentis haberi,
Hac si stultus emam spem ratione tui.
Ipse bonum si nunc quantumvis vile relinquam,
Magnaque quae sperem forte futura petam.
Sperando qui magna sequi mediocria nolunt,
Errant, prae dubiis linquere certa nocet.
